After the metamorphosis of the girls, we said good-bye to Victoria, whose prickly disposition sealed her fate at panel. The girls turned into gargoyles last week, but Janet’s photo was stony so we said good-bye to her as well.
This week, we start with Ebony getting tired of getting grief in panel and Ambreal upset because she was in the bottom 2. Bianca and Heather have a conversation about Heather being captured in profile.
The girls get a visit from Tyson Beckford. Tyson is there to talk to the girls about being a spokesperson. He gives them a mini-lesson in selling an item from there kitchen. Tyson prompts Ebony to give it more. Heather gets up-close with Tyson, as does Ambreal. The girls are then summoned to the set where they are doing a Public Service Announcement (PSA) for keep a child alive (in response to the AIDS epidemic in Africa). The judge is Elizabeth Santiso, vice president of keep a child alive. The girls are put in to 3 teams to do a 30 second PSA for keep a child alive. The third team of Sarah, Ebony and Saliesha are off and running with ideas. Team two of Ambreal, Jenah and Heather have a hard time getting started. Team one of Lisa, Chantal and Bianca are spring boarded by Bianca’s ideas. During the filming, Bianca stumbles over her words calling it keep a child and Saliesha claims that the group does prevention leaving Team 2 as the winners of the challenge. Lisa Price, the founder of Carol’s Daughter gives two of the winners gift baskets. The three team members names are then put into a bowl and Heather is picked to do a photo shoot for Carol’s Daughter under the art direction of Mary J. Blige and photographed by Matthew Rolston. Matthew Rolston gives Heather some essential feedback in doing shots straight on.
As the girls are hanging out in the house, Ebony reveals that she wants to go home. The girls quickly dismiss it. The girls arrive on set to find out their photo shoot is a fashion editorial about a recyclable material. Fredric Reshew is there photographer. Heather shoots straight on, Saliesha takes a risk and tears down the set, Ebony is uninspiring, Bianca smiles with her eyes and Ambreal looks inexperienced.
Ebony hopes that she is eliminated. The girls go to panel where Tyra, Twiggy, Miss Jay, Nigel and Tyson critique the girls photos. Ambreal blames an eyelash for looking dead in the face. Sarah gets called out for having lost weight. The judges are happy to see Heather straight on. As Tyra stands with 8 photos in her hands and Ebony and Ambreal standing before her, she reveals that the next girl who will not continue on to being America’s Next Top Model is Ambreal…but Ebony doesn’t come to take her picture. Instead, she tells Tyra that she doesn’t want to be there. Tyra tells her that the most unattractive thing in the world to her is a quitter and that she can go and Ambreal gets a free pass for another week.

I enjoyed this epi. I thought Heather looked amazing in both her shoots. I’m glad Ebony left. Glad she didn’t say one thing in the house and another at panel. Ultimately, most glad that she didn’t take the spot from one of her passionate competitors.
