Surprisingly, no new social message this week. However, no one was seen smoking. Whether they did or not may be found on the cutting room floor. I wonder what will happen if someone is seen smoking. Is that grounds for elimination or will they come up with some consequence in regards to the photo shoot…say 30 frames instead of the standard 60?
Bianca continues to earn the title as “the mean one,” for lack of a better term or because it is not proper to publish another term. She is not only picking fights but resorting to sabotage. Wait…I thought Survivor was on a different time and channel.
As the girls are practicing their walks, Bianca gives a bad tip to one of the other contestants. Shortly thereafter the girls are summoned to the madhouse where Miss J gives them tips on their walks which they do in heels and straightjackets. I was hoping Bianca’s bad tip might come to light, but no such luck. Saliesha comments on her previous experience giving her an advantage.
Back at the house, Saliesha is talking about her experience as girls ask questions. Either Saliesha got tired of talking (hard to believe since she repeatedly points out her experience throughout the entire episode) or someone asked something that rubbed her the wrong way because before you know it, Bianca and Saliesha are at it. I am surprised no punches were thrown. On the other hand, many of the girls seem to have done a 180º in regards to Heather.
The girls are summoned to a runway challenge where they will be modeling gowns by Colleen Quen. The winner, as decided by Colleen Quen and Roy Campbell, will model in the debut of Quen’s designs in Paris. The girls are obviously concentrating on their walks, trying to remember the advice from Miss J because it shows in almost all of their faces. Ebony runs into Sarah on her return trip down the runway which does not go over well with Roy Campbell. At the end, Saliesha is determined the winner. I guess all of that experience must have come in handy.
For the photo shoot, the girls are told they will be modeling gowns while rock climbing. One of the girls is an experienced rock climber and surprisingly it is not Saliesha, but Jenah. The overall theme throughout the photo shoot is “Don’t self-analyze,” courtesy of Jay Manuel.
At elimination, Tyra starts speaking in a French accent. Maybe I am overanalyzing (Jay Manuel would probably have something to say about that), but there seems to have been a definite French presence in tonight’s episode. Twiggy, Miss J, Tyra, Nigel and Roy Campbell critique the girls’ photos with some interesting insights. Tyra asks Heather why she seems to make such good eye contact when that is one of the difficulties individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome can have. Heather explains that she uses her art to make eyes come alive. I think one of the most noted moment was when for the second week in a row Victoria has something to say to Twiggy. Twiggy told her there was something unusual about her and Victoria asks what it is. I think Victoria is really interested in what it is, but as Nigel told her last week, things go over much better when you are smiling. As Tyra stands with 11 photos in her hand, Jenah is called first. In the end, as Kimberly and Bianca stand before her, she reveals that the second girl who will not continue on to being America’s Next Top Model is Kimberly.
