I needed this today. All I can think about is how this is going to be a long difficult road, and I needed a reminder that there are positives to infertility. My thoughts are with you.

Brava. It’s difficult sometimes to see the positives, but all the more important to realize the hidden blessings such challenges can bring. I know that in our own case, I remind myself how much more we’ll appreciate success given all the months we have waited for it.

Wonderfully said! I can especially relate to #10 (not taking your child for granted) - even though I was fortunate enough not to have to deal with infertility, knowing so many couples that do, totally keeps me from taking my son for granted! Even when he’s screaming, crying, fussing, etc. - I will take all that over infertility any day!

I love what you wrote, especially numbers 1 and 2. I always tell people that I can appreciate my child in ways that others can’t.

Scooter-you’ve always been able to put things in perspective. We’ve been struggling w/ IF and I came in here today to find some reassurance and BAM it’s right there. Thank you!

Such a great perspective! We have not had infertility issues per se, but have had so many miscarriages I have almost lost count. I identify with so many of your points and always try to find the positive in what life has handed me.

Best of luck on your new journey!

Hi Scooter — You know my reproductive history and this piece you have written is beautifully said. Number 6 hits home, as you well know, for me. It tore us apart and opened the floodgates for even more destruction. All my positive thoughts and wishes to you this go-round.

Scooter…this was said in that eloquent way that only you can and hits home for so many of us who are right there or have been right there with you. This is the FIRST blog I’ve ever commented on but it is the one that has touched me and hit home most. Thanks for sharing this.

Scooter! Well said Momma! Number 1 says it all, not that people who have not had fertility issue take their children for granted, but never for one second have i taken our little one for granted I thank god every day he is here. And #2 rings true too. I dont want to miss a single thing he does and i know they grow up so quick and everytime I blink i think thats the last time he’s going to be this many weeks old…I wish they could stay little…great writing…good job!!

Scooter, everything that you wrote is so true. I can relate to it all. #4 and #3 were very hard for me while I was undergoing treatment, and #2 and #1 are true now. I try to enjoy every day with my son, even the really difficult days. Thanks for writing this.

Scooter, thank you so much for writing this! You much more eloquently put into words how I feel about this whole long journey. Great job!
