There’s a Chill in the Air

Originally uploaded by LanceLuce.The other day as I was driving home, I noticed that the leaves were beginning to change colors. And then, the next day I woke up and it was in the forties! Yes, fall is coming. My absolute favorite season.

I like summer, but the heat does get to me after months of high heat and humidity. So, when fall rolls around, I’m so ready. And, although I love to wear a t-shirt (or tank), capris and some sort of slip on shoe, I love jeans and sweaters and cold weather clothes too. I love that in the fall, you can wear a light jacket in the morning and ditch it by afternoon.

I love that in the fall, you can go drink hot drinks again. How I miss hot apple cider and hot tea during the summer when I wouldn’t even think about drinking anything hot. Best of all is drinking them outside when there’s just a slight chill in the air.

The colors are all vibrant, the leaves are fun to rake up (okay, so maybe only the first day), and Halloween is coming! Which means going to the pumpkin patch and picking out a pumpkin to carve. Dressing up and going trick or treating (and now that I have a daughter to dress up, it’s even more fun again). Going on hay rides. Going to a bon fire (or in our case, hosting the bon fire).

And, at the end of fall, there’s even more to look forward to. Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays. Everyone gets together, but there isn’t any of the gift pressure that comes with Christmas. Pumpkin pies, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin bread, pumpkin everything!

Yep, fall is almost here, and I for one am excited. Seems like a few of you are too.
