I too used to watch “Murder She Wrote” with my grandma– we would sometimes also catch “Matlock” or “Father Dowling”… thanks for the flashback!

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Reading your post makes me think of watching t.v. with my grandmother (she passed on her 84th bday in 2000). Murder she Wrote was a favorite as was Cagney and Lacey, Riptide and Crazy like a Fox. Whenever I hear the theme songs of any of these shows it brings a tear to my eye thinking of those wonderful, carefree evenings with my grandmother.
Thanks for reminding me how great my grandmother was.

I’m sorry that you lost your Grandmother. I too relate to your posting. I used to watch Murder She Wrote all the time as a kid with my parents. I would sing the opening tune and even now when I hear the the Murder She Wrote Song I think about my childhood trying to solve the mystery.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your grandmother this summer. I can really identify with this whole entry, though. Reading your post was like seeing my own experiences put down into words! I too, used to watch this show with my grandmother. She passed away five years ago this December, and I recently discovered the Murder She Wrote reruns on cable. I watch them occasionally, sometimes even DVRing them, and it makes me feel closer to my grandmother and her memory. Thanks for writing a post about something that really strikes a chord, in a most unexpected way!
