Thanks to my father's genetics, I am short, plump, and hairy and my eyebrows are an everyday visual reminder of that fact. I don't get my eyebrows waxed b/c I had a bad experience long ago, but I do spend agonizing minutes in front of the mirror every morning plucking and tweezing and hoping to god that I didn't miss the giant one that will give away my secret. Now, I do in fact get the waxed (or did, now I get them threaded), but mostly because if not, I can get a bit carried away with tweezers. I will often have random strangers compliment my brows while I'm out and about. How funny that brow shape is something so many of us take for granted, yet others covet. I have to say though, I do find it odd that when I plan to meet with CC/LJers, they usually comment on how they'll finally get the see The Brows in person. Strange indeed. My eyebrows have always been such monstrosities that my mother, moments before I walked down the aisle, commented: "are you going to DO something about your eyebrows?" (yes ma, let me grab the tweezers out of my bouquet!) You are not even close to being the "embodiment of average". It is so odd that the place we go to make ourselves feel good inevitably tries to sell us things on our supposed shortcomings. Eyebrow envy!
