This episode starts off with Andy with his family at home in Pennsylvania. He’s bringing the ladies home to meet mom, dad, grandma, grandpa and his sister.
Tessa comes to lunch first. The family is immediately smitten with her. And, really, who isn’t. Tessa is so polite and friendly, one can’t help but to like her. Mom apologizes for staring, it’s just that she thinks Tessa is beautiful. She’s asked some hard questions by Andy’s mom and sister, but is able to answer them and have everyone liking her by the time that she leaves.
Bevin comes for dinner. Things start off on a rather iffy start - when asked about what she does, she brings up the fact that she’s working on research for woman’s libidos during menopause. Uh, huh - maybe you shouldn’t bring that up on the first time home to meet the folks. Then, Gramps asks her if she practices any religion. She certainly was raised by her parents by some religion that both Gramps and Grandma seem skeptical of. But, all the family certainly feels and sees the chemistry that Andy and Bevin posess.
When Bevin leaves, they chit chat about both girls. The general consensus is that either girl would be fine, though, they encourage Andy to really think about his choice and what it will mean in years to come. In other words, think with the right head, Andy.
Back to Hawaii, and Bevin and Andy have another alone date. This time, they take a helicopter ride. Bevin squeals like a school girl, since she’s never been in a helicopter before. Lots of kissing ensues - at one point my husband pipes up that this is starting to look like soft porn. Later during their date, Bevin professes her love for Andy. More kissing. Bevin gives Andy a belated gift - a watch, so he can tell time. More kissing.
Tessa’s date is up next. Horseback riding to a remote beach where there is a sunset swim for the two of them. Tessa is having trouble opening up to Andy, you can sense just how scared she is. Tessa also has a gift for something, and a letter. The letter details how Tessa feels about him. Andy is very excited, but even moreso when Tessa finally confesses that she’s fallen in love with him. Andy tells her that he’s in love with her. Lots of kissing action ensues.
The next day comes - it’s the final rose ceremony. The usual happens - the women prep for the night nervously and the bachelor talks about how it’s such a difficult decision.
Finally, both women hop into limos and start the journey. Bevin arrives first. Andy tells her how wonderful she is. And how they have such a connection. And how she’s touched his heart. But, then, he drops the bomb shell - someone else has touched his heart deeper. Bevin is visibly upset, and Andy keeps droning on, probably trying to make himself feel like less of an ass, as he’s just ripped out a heart that he supposedly cared about greatly. Bevin finally gets in the limo and leaves.
I’ve been a fan of Tessa’s since the beginning, so I was so excited at this point - I waited, rather impatiently, through the commercial to get to the good part! Finally, the commercial is over, Tessa arrives in her limo and greets Andy. Andy tells her how wonderful she is and how great today is, because it’s only the two of them. Yay, Tessa won Andy’s heart. But wait, there’s more. Andy drops to one knee and honest to goodness proposes. Not any of this wear it on your right hand while we get to know each other business, but and actual proposal. Tessa accepts!
Tune in tomorrow for more of Andy and Tessa on a special After The Rose episode.
