For me, Latin night was worse than Standards night last week. I think their choices for songs tonight must have been pretty limited. Just think, country night with Martina McBride is next week. Maybe I’ll try passing blog duty off to someone else. Shhh, don’t tell anyone, it will be our little secret.
In order from my favorite to least favorite performances:
I’m still a big Jordin Sparks fan despite this performance. It was a weak song for her, but she still came out strong with the vocals. I’d like to see her win this thing.
Blake Lewis finally shows more vocal abilities tonight than he usually does. I’d be down for some beat boxing thrown in there next week.
I have to give Lakisha Jones props for trying to spice it up a bit w/ the moves tonight. Maybe she was pissed about the one trick pony dig I took at her last week.
I think that was Melinda Doolittle’s weakest performance in the competition thus far. It was like most of her other ones, old and boring.
Were the judges listening to the same Chris Richardson performance I was? I thought it was awful. He sang most of the song off key and still too low despite JLo’s advice.
Haley Scarnato’s laser light show, uh I mean performance, almost sent me into a seizure. I couldn’t even hear the singing because the music and background singers were so loud. The hot pants should get her by another week. Let’s hope she goes home before she comes on stage topless.
WTF did Sanjaya Malakar get the pimp spot for? I was disappointed he wasn’t sporting a unique do tonight. It’s about the only thing I look forward to from him. Nice ‘stache, buddy.
I’m hoping that was Phil Stacey’s last performance on the show this season. One of his biggest problems is that he has yet to establish a style for himself like most of the other contestants have. Oh wait. Yes he has, he loves his wife.
Southerner

This was a really lackluster set of performances. I think Phil will be eliminated tonight. I just don’t think he has the fan support to stay around, nor do I think he deserves to.
