Ever feel like your laptop or PC has become an appendage? I constantly find myself running to my laptop when…I go to the doctor’s office and am prescribed medicine (I’m a med double checker), or I need driving directions, or I need to decide when/if I should send my daughter to pre-school, or I need holiday craft ideas, the list goes on. I’m even taking a photography course online. However, aside from Constant Chatter, I find myself spending most of my time online buying things. Yes, I’m an online shopping addict.
I rarely go to brick and mortar stores anymore. From furnishing rooms, to miscellaneous home decorations, groceries, clothing, shoes, cosmetics, and cat food. I even bought a mattress for my daughter online. Don’t even get me started about eBay… let’s just say I have a competitive personality and I don’t like to lose auctions.
My propensity for buying things online is hitting an all time high. Now that I have a toddler and a newborn, I’m much less likely to make a quick trip to Target just to get out of the house. I haven’t quite mastered getting out and about with two yet. As if I need anymore excuses, I recently became on of the moderators for CC’s Fashion & Beauty forum. Sure, I moderate other forums, but I find myself jonesing for F&B when I wake up every morning. Now instead of reading posts with subjects in my field of knowledge, I’m reading all F&B posts. And you know what? I’m finding my area field of knowledge is expanding and so is my closet. Okay, well the floor of my closet is expanding. Yeah, I’ve discovered Clarks Privo shoes. They aren’t cheap, but man… they are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned and therefore worth the money IMO. When I started considering whether I should purchase a business tote, I decided to put a kabash on my online purchases. I’m a SAHM after all - what do I need a business tote for? Hmm…. it could double as a diaper bag. Somebody stop me!
In all seriousness, the Internet is an amazing place. While my husband might not be pleased, I am incredibly happy that I have the option of shopping online. I’ve been able to buy my son’s baptism outfit when I was short on time, find and purchase food for my highly allergenic daughter, and holiday shopping is a breeze. As is the case with most things, moderation is the key. Now I just have to convince myself of that. :p
