My DH is not what anyone would call a morning person. He has a bad habit of sleeping through the first minute or so of the alarm and then hitting the snooze button. This happens at least 4 times every morning beginning bright and early at 5:30 am.Frankly, I can’t take it anymore. I can’t take the buzzing, I can’t take the snoozing, I have dealt with it for over 6 years and I am done. Now since he won’t sleep on the couch and I like having him around otherwise, I have decided to get him a new alarm clock. An alarm clock that will make him get out of bed. In short, he is getting an evil alarm clock.
Option A:
The Peaceful Progression Alarm Clock - I actually have this alarm clock on my side of the bed. The light comes on 30 minutes before the set wake-up time. Then 15 minutes before the wake-up time, the peaceful sounds start - birds chirping, mountain stream, thunder storm or ocean surf are some of the choices. Then a buzzing alarm starts at wake up time.

It really is a nice way to wake up but not evil enough for my purposes.
Option B:
Puzzle Alarm Clock - this puppy launches 4 puzzle pieces into the air when the alarm goes off. The only way to turn it off is to gather those four pieces and reassemble the puzzle.
No way is DH going to go back to sleep after those puzzle pieces fly through the air but how long would it take him to reassemble that puzzle in sleepy haze?
Option C:
The Flying Alarm Clock - the top of this alarm clock pops off and flies around the room, buzzing like a mosquito until you grab it and put it back on the base.
Getting him out of bed is a good thing but having him jump around trying to catch this as it buzzes over our bed might be a little disruptive to MY sleep.
Option D:
Clocky - this might be it. Clocky jumps off the nightstand and actually rolls away. It hides and continues to go off until pulled from its hiding spot.
This would probably be fun for the first day but it would scare the bejebbers out of the dog and it would wind up way under our king size bed - unreachable and going off for hours.
Other suggestions for alarm clocks are very welcome, evil or not so evil.

My roommate never used to be able to wake up with her alarm and I was *this* tempted to buy her a vibrating alarm clock that I saw at a truck stop once. With many of them, the obscenely loud alarm can be turned off leaving just the shaking bed.
