American Idol Season 6 Top 12

Every year there’s one or two people who squeak through to the Top 12 and knock out a more deserving singer. This year is no exception. Sanjaya and Haley are the guilty parties this year. Maybe Sabrina had too much competition in the R&B/soulful department?

Best line of the night goes to Simon. Ryan asked him “what happened?” when Sundance was voted off. His response “the volume was turned down.” Granted, he is better than Sanjaya, but he hasn’t sounded good since the audition round.

At least Antonella is free to launch her career with Girls Gone Wild.

I think Melinda Doolittle has the strongest vocals of the females remaining. Lakisha Jones just might have the Jennifer Hudson curse ahead of her. The AI curse, that is. This season, the votes could be split between Lakisha and Stephanie Edwards, giving Melinda the advantage.

Of the males remaining, my vote goes to Blake Lewis and Chris Sligh. Along with vocals, Chris has humor working in his favor and Blake has a broad range of style and skills.
