At the time, the Vet said we needed to do it ASAP, and I was expecting that b/c my previous Vet had said it would be needed soon. We unfortunately don't brush his teeth as often as we should. I think he is in need of it again, but financially, we need to wait until the end of this year. I don't think the Vet we are using now really looks as good as they should, and I don't know if they are equipped to even do it. We try to look to see if the gums are aggravated where the bad build up is, but I don't see any really red places on them. He's not bleeding when he chews his rope bone, either. The vet we had before had looked in his mouth and never mentioned the amount of plague and decay in his mouth. The new doc said there's no way he wasn't in pain. Since then, we've been getting our other cat's teeth brushed yearly.
