How do I recap the final rose ceremony and the two hours leading up to it? Do I just cut right to the chase? Do I make you wait and read the entire two hour worth of a recap?
First the girls needed to meet Lorenzo’s parents. We find out that Sadie and Jen share a lot in common, they’re both the same sign (Pisces), both born in early March. Lorenzo’s parents like both girls. Yeah, because they would have said otherwise? I mean, there’s a chance, albeit a small one, that one of the girls will actually marry Lorenzo, right? So, why shoot themselves in the foot?
Speaking of shooting, the next portion of the two hour stint includes Jen’s parents coming to town, you all will remember them, or at least the dad, he’s the crazy gun guy. Then Sadie’s parents arrive. And it’s a brunch for all the parents and kiddos. Fun times. Jen’s dad makes a comment about how they’ll look back on this when Jen and Lorenzo celebrate their five year anniversary. Gee, thanks, way to make Sadie feel badly, jerk.
Finally, that’s over with. Moms get together with the girls, which leaves the dads available to talk to Lorenzo. Lorenzo asks both dads for their blessing should he chose their daughter. They both give it.
All the parents leave. Sadie and Lorenzo have their final date. Then Jen and Lorenzo have their final date. All the while ABC is showing promos of a ring going on the left hand of a woman. And if you just look closely enough, you can sort of figure out which one it will be based upon the nails.
So, it really comes as no surprise when Sadie shows up and Lorenzo tells her that she’s not the girl for him. Poor thing was crying. I just hope she didn’t give it up on the overnight date. I felt really bad for Sadie. Could be she’ll be a future bachelorette. If nothing else, I hope we hear good things about her in the future.
Then Jen comes in. Lorenzo confesses his love. Jen does the same thing. A big shiny ring comes out. But, Lorenzo isn’t asking her to marry him, only to wear his ring? Crazy boy, doesn’t he know the two go together? He asks her to go back to real life with him and see if the still have the same feelings when not in the Garden of Eden that is Rome.
At the end of the show, they introduce the next Bachelor. A Navy Doctor, coming to us in Spring 2007. I can already feel the pull of the trash tv….
