I was poking around my December Glamour magazine the other day and discovered some very useful holiday snacking info. I thought I’d pass it on to everyone.
Did you know…
- that choosing champagne over wine or beer will save you quite a few calories? Heck, you can have two glasses of champagne for the same calories as one light beer or glass of wine!
- that gingerbread or oatmeal cookies have less fat and sugar than either chocolate chip or sugar cookies? And let’s be honest, they’re usually less addictive too.
- pumpkin pie packs a vitamin packed punch and weighs in at about 200 calories for a 1/8th sized slice? The same size slice of apple pie weighs in at approximately 300 calories, and that’s not counting the a’la mode.
- one cup of cheddar flavored popcorn (approx 60 calories) is lower in sugar than the caramel popcorn and has less fat than the buttery popcorn? So you really can enjoy some of that can of flavored popcorn that the salesman dropped off.
And because sometimes you you want to make something a little healthy and sometimes you just want to make something a little decadent…
