My husband and I are in the middle of house hunting in Columbus, Ohio. We met while living in Columbus so it really is home for us and we are looking forward to getting back to living near our friends and closer to my family (and further away from his
).
The one thing I forgot about living in Ohio is how crazed the political climate is here! I have never in my life seen so many political commercials so early in the election season! No commercials for Cheerios, no previews for my favorite shows, I don’t know what stores are having sales this weekend, I couldn’t even tell you what movies are coming out this weekend! It seems like all the commercials are political ads.
You know what is frustrating me more than the repetition? They are overwhelmingly negative! Nearly every single commercial is just slamming the candidate’s opponent and it is already beyond old! Frankly, I don’t care what the other person did “wrong” or how they have “let us down” – I want to know what you’re going to do for me. At this point, I would vote for any candidate, regardless of party, if they would just run a completely positive campaign!
I know Ohio is a hotly contested political battleground and is viewed as a major swing state but do I really have to put up with this for another month and a half?
