Well, Tickle Me Elmo is turning 10 this year, and he’s back. Yesterday, September 19, Fisher Price is releasing the 10th Anniversary Edition of Tickle Me Elmo, TMX (the X stands for 10 and for extreme).
Until yesterday, no one knew much about the new furry, red monster. Fisher Price was being extremely tight lipped about it. Up until yesterday, when you went to the website all you got was a sillouette and a countdown clock. There was also a “product demo” with the same sillouette, movie preview-esqe announcing and little more info than that he’s “utterly awesome!”
An article from USA Today revealed little more about the toy. ” ‘That’s truly amazing,’ Jim Silver, co-publisher of Toy Wishes magazine, gushes. ‘The first reaction I had was, ‘Where are the wires?’ Because I didn’t think anything like that could move on its own.’ ”
The rest of us didn’t get to learn anything more about Elmo until he was released, yesterday morning on Good Morning America.
Of course, as mother of an Elmo addict, ours is already pre-ordered.
